Valheru Raiding RulesGeneral Raiding Rules:# Every member of the guild who attends an official raid is expected to raid according to the rules. Failure to do so may result in a warning or in severe/repeated cases a demote to Malygos Starter rank. The raiding rules are not enforced in guild FFA raids, but it is strongly recommended that they are still followed.
# If you for any reason are demoted to Malygos Starter rank you have two options: a) Request Nozdormu Friend rank. b) Reapply for a new raider trial to show that you do, in fact, deserve your raider rank.
# As a raider you must be able to accept critique from the raid leader/officers/council regarding your performance. It is important to remember that this critique is
NEVER meant to make you feel bad about your performance, but to inform you about what you're doing wrong so you may improve on this.
# During progression raids and content that is not yet on farm status wiping may be a big part of the learning process. Try to keep up a good spirit during these raids and focus on the aspects that need training, so that we may reach our goals.
# Loot is distributed according to the loot rules described in the
Valheru Loot Rules thread.
Raider trial:# New applicants applying for raider status should use the template in the
Become Valheru forum.
# Alexis Raiders and raiding officers/GM wishing to change their main spec/character as well as Nozdormu Friends wishing to become raiders should post in the
Request for rank change forum using the template also found in the
Request for rank change forum.
# Trial requirements: Your character is level 80, you can meet the minimum attendance rule, you have read and accepted the raiding rules and your gear is up to scratch (at least Ulduar 25/TotC 10 normal or equivalently geared).
# Before you application is accepted the Council will usually take you for a spin in a heroic or two and if everything looks alright you'll be on trial for approximately 5 raids. However, the council may choose to keep you on trial for longer (or shorter). During this time you will be evaluated by a council consisting of raiders from the guild. If you're not doing well the council and/or officers will let you know (i.e. if you don't get contacted by either you're most likely doing ok or better in your trial).
Basically, we'll promote or decline you when we're happy enough to do so.
# If you are declined by the council you can apply no sooner than 4 weeks after your latest trial period has ended regardless of character and spec.
The council:# The members of the council are appointed by the officers/GM and have been chosen among players we consider experienced, impartial and able to evaluate the performance of all roles in a raid (DPS/tank/healer).
# When the council has made a decision regarding a raider application this will be posted in the application.
- The council will send a private forum message to raiders and raiding officers/GM wishing to change main spec/character as well as Nozdormu Friends on raiding trial containing the reason and/or special notes in case of a decline.
# During trial, please feel free to ask the council/officers for advice, but as a rule of thumb the council/officers will contact you.
- Raiders and raiding officers/GM as well as Nozdormu Friends wishing to reapply after a decline are expected to contact the council/officers to let them know they wish to improve.
# Current council members:
- Kregan (Guild master).
- Mabs (officer).
- Ragni (officer).
- MoonshÃne (raider).
Raid lockout:# Alexis Raiders, raiding officers/GM and raiding triallers are not allowed to be locked out of the instances the guild is raiding officially, unless:
- You can not join any of the planned official raids before reset day and are not already saved to a guild raid.
# Current official raids:
- Icecrown Citadel, 10-man.
# Current FFA raids:
- Any WotLK 10-man raid not listed above.
- Any 25-man raid.
- Any pre-WotLK raid.
# Nozdormu Friends and alts of any players in the guild can join and arrange any PUG/FFA as long as they remember they are ambassadors of the guild and as such expected to act appropriately.
# Nozdormu Friends will only be asked to join an official raid if there are not enough Alexis Raiders, raiding officers/GM or raiding triallers signed up. Loot rules regarding Nozdormu Friends can be found in the
Valheru Loot Rules thread.
Raid signup info:# Official raids are managed through the ingame calendar.
# FFA raids are managed on the forum/ingame calendar and everyone can sign up to these, provided it does not interfere with the lockout rules.
# Try and state your availability as early as possible to allow the raid leaders to pick out raiders for proper group setups prior to the raid. If you can't be present for the entire raid, unsure you can't join or any similar special circumstances send an ingame mail to either the raid leader or assistant (usually Kregan and/or Mabs) and they'll note this.
# The invites close 24 hours prior to raid start.
# Signup and attendance will be kept track of in the attendance sheet - a link to this can be found in the raid signup forum.
Raid preparation:# Bring plenty of potions, elixirs (or flasks), buff food, reagents, etc. If you think [insert random number here] of some item is enough, bring double the amount.
# Repair your gear before raid start.
# Read tactics for the bosses we may encounter during the raid. If you can't remember all, take a few notes of the most important things
you need to know about the encounter.
# Respec to a proper PvE spec if you do not have one already. There are no excuses for raiding with a PvP/solo/grinding spec except if it happens in connection with swap-outs.
# Be on time and prepared. Don't start getting reagants and potions when you get the invite. If you haven't got time to prepare before the raid, do it before you log off and wait outside the instance. If you're going to be late due to real life events try and inform the raid leader - if this isn't a possibility
always explain to the raid leader as soon as possible later why you didn't show up on time.
During raids:# When you are on a raid you are expected to commit 100%. There are 9 or 24 other people doing the same for you and counting on you. There are
no excuses for slacking during raids.
# Everyone should help figuring out if someone is doing something wrong. Inform the raid leader/council members, so they can explain to that player that something can/should be done in another way.
# Tactics are explained by the raid leader. During this listen and take notes the most important things if neccesary. Any suggestions to the tactics are welcomed.
# Keep raid chat and Ventrilo clear during tactics, boss fights and while sorting out loot, so that no need request or rolls get lost.
Addons:# It is
your responsibility to keep addons up to date. If you use the Curse updater all of the listed addons can be updated in a fast and easy manner prior to every raid.
# Mandatory addons:
- Deadly Boss Mods (alternatively you can use BigWigs, but try sticking with DBM so everyone uses the same addon).
- Omen.
- Grid with GridStatusIncomingHeals or HealBot with HealCommand LibHealComm (healers only - dispellers can use decursive).
- PallyPower (paladins only).
# Recommended addons:
- Quartz cast bar or equivalent.
- Recount.
- EPGP.
- CT Raid Assist or oRA.
If you have any questions regarding the addons, ask your guild mates.
Ventrilo:# We use Ventrilo for voice communication in the raids and as such everyone is expected to be on Ventrilo during the raids.
# You do not need to be able to speak on Ventrilo, but it is an advantage if you can.
# During raids Ventrilo can be used for chatting while clearing trash, but during tactics and boss encounters only raid related talk is allowed on Ventrilo and you should avoid talking over the raid leader.
If you have any trouble with Ventrilo, please contact Shifter/Nomir for help.
Raiding days:All times are server times, so remember to add or subtract hours if you are in a different time zone. The raid start time is the time which we expect you to be outside the instance portal and the end time is the time to which we expect you to stay the least.
- Thursday: Invite: 20.15. Raid time: 20.30 to 23.30 (ICC 10).
- Sunday: Invite: 19.15. Raid time: 20.30 to 23.30 (ICC 10).
- Tuesday: Invite: 20.15. Raid time: 20.30 to 23.30 (ICC 10).
All other days are free for all and everyone can arrange events on these days. Please check the forum for FFA and off-scheduled raids.
Minimum attendance:# To maintain the Alexis Raider rank or raid as an officer/GM you need to attend 40% of the raids (equivalent to ~5 raids a month).
# Being on standby counts as attended and will award EP, see the
Valheru Loot Rules for more info.
# If you are unable to raid for an extended period of time due to real life events, such as vacation, this should be stated in the
Going away/being away thread in the private forum. By doing so the raids you can not attend will not be counted in the statistics.
AFK, swap-out and standby:# It is allowed to go AFK shortly during trash clears. State in raid chat how long you will be AFK and put your character on follow - preferably follow a healer or ranged DPS that won't get you into trouble.
# It is
not allowed to go AFK prior to tactics and boss fights nor during these, unless it is things that you can not put on hold, e.g. someone is at the door or your house is on fire. If you need to go AFK at these times for any reason, please tell the raid leader as quick as possible, so that a short break can be issued or a replacement found.
# If you sign for a raid and do not get picked out you may stay as standby. It is not a requirement that you stay as standby, but it is recommended and you will receive hourly EP. If you are on standby you are expected to be able to replace a raider within 5 minutes.
# In very rare cases it may be neccesary to swap someone out for different reasons; group setup, specific classes needed, etc. It is never fun to be swapped out, but keep cool about it, you'll get your chance later. To compensate for being swapped out, you will receive bonus EP.
