Twin Valkyrs:

Took a few tries just for everyone to get the hang of how the light and dark essence mechanic work - had a bit of trouble switching essences fast enough for burning down the shields, but after that it was really easy.

Heroic version should be a bit more interesting with the heals.

Yogg-Saron:

We f*** finally got it all right. Took us two attempts in phase 3 (the first one was a fast wipe as it hadn't been explained what to do) and a lot of attempts in phase 1 and 2. Basically getting everyone to avoid clouds in phase 1 and the major difference in phase 2: Everyone to move as a raid and nuke the f*** out of tentacles both inside and outside the brainroom. Great job everyone, this wasn't an easy kill!

Anub'Arak:

After a first pull with healer DC'ed (and resulting tank death in 20 secs) we killed him on the 2nd try. Not a complicated fight at all, as long as the healers can keep up in phase 3 (which is a bit more interesting from their perspective than the rest of the fight).

Had some tries on heroic mode beasts, I think "Ouch" sums it up.

Northrend Beasts - Heroic mode:

Came back to this after some good tries Sunday (actually getting PAST Gormok) - it seemed we just needed to get the healing just right on Gormok (and push the buttons a bit harder) to make things happen. The Jormungars wasn't a major problem and as in normal mode Icehowl is just /lol.

Jaraxxus - Heroic mode:

First things first:
Quote:
LOLWUT WE HAVE TO KILL PORTALS AND LIEK VOLCANOES??!!?!!1

Yeah, that was the first little thing about heroic mode :D. Did a lot of wiping after that until we started getting down the portals in time for just one mistress to spawn - and thus only one caster (healer!!) silenced at a time. Speaking of healing, although very different from Gormok still quite demanding :S

After Jaraxxus we had a date with the faction champions - including the ret paladin and warrior (OUR FAVOURITE SETUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111). With 4 paladins in the raid we wiped... Fast and very terribly so decided to call it after that.

Pictures will be online later as I r not at my WoW computer with screenies x(

Twin Valkyrs - Heroic mode:

Twin Valkyrs heroic - orbs hurt... Soooo, we tried the soaking tactic, but after 14 (I think) wipes we decided to just give it a go the normal way, i.e. split up the raid in 2 groups and have everyone dodge orbs. We've tried out some "fancy" tactics a couple times now, but it always seem we get back to "Keep It Simple Stupid" tactics just work for Valheru and this seemed to be the case again. It did take us a 2nd raid day and a grand total of 19 wipes before everyone got the dodging just right, but in the end the twins fell.

Just Anub'Arak to go - had some tries today, but only 7 left. Fingers crossed that we kill him Sunday before the patch folks!

Sooo, first day of Icecrown Citadel! After fighting the instance portal for a good 15-20 minutes we finally got in to play around a bit with the trash and soon...

Lord Marrowgar:

Tactics were pretty easy, execution required a little bit of focus. Mostly from the healers keeping the tanks alive following a bone storm, but apart from that not amazingly challenging.

Lady Deathwhisper:

Lots of adds with lots of abilities - turned out to be pretty irrellevant considering we oneshot her... Heroic mode should be more interesteing though.

Gunship Battle:

Rocket boosters ftw xD Pretty chaotic battle at first, but also rather easy to learn and once the basics are down also a really easy fight. It was pretty fun seeing the players on Orgrims Hammer being flown away when it retreated - it wasn't so fun having to jump off the Skybreaker to get back to the Citadel :O

Overall a bit dissapointing experience even though it's just the first 3 bosses in Icecrown Citadel. For a endgame raid at least... If Saurfang doesn't proove to be more challenging it's going to be four boring weeks of farming till the next wing opens.

Seems I forgot my post about Saurfang :o

Deathbringer Saurfang:

We went with three healers on the first day and it took us quite a few tries. After a lot of practice with add handling and getting us tanks to taunt fast enough we ended up killing him with three healers and getting the achievement as well! A really tiring fight when you lack the last little drop of DPS of add handling to get him down before someone dies from a mark at <5%.

The following week were a lot more frustrating though. Went with three healers again and seemed to be unable to kill him before the third mark (which usually resulted in deaths quickly thereafter) - we later found out that the "secret" is going with two healers and six DPS, which makes everything a lot easier.

So yesterday we had our first chance (well, me personally - I know some people were playing around with Precious and Stinky after the Thursday, raid shame on you people!!) to see the new wing in Icecrown Citidal. Trash: Rep ftw!

After relieving both Stinky and Precious of their miseries we decided to go pay a visit to Rotface. It took us a few tries to get add handling in slime spray down pretty good, but seemed to keep being overwhelmed by adds late in the fight. As such we gave up when the trash respawned and decided to pay a visit to Festergut instead.

Festergut:

Pretty simple fight really, he was down in three tries after the mandatory first wipe and a "OMG he hits hard after 3 inhales :o :o :o :o"-wipe. So after instructing the healers to go nuts with spamhealing the tank after the 3rd inhale we got him down just after two full cycles of the inhale/exhale mechanic.

Rotface:

12 wipes first day, 18 wipes second day and then a few more today, but we finally landed us the kill. To make it sound simple, all it took was a little bit more of everything; little bit more DPS, little bite more healing, little bit more focus. Guess practice does make perfect :-) That and realising you should actually save CDs and heroism for late in the fight when oozes start spawning really fast... Good job guys, Putricide here we come!

So it's been quite a while since the last update (making this one feel oh so much better). Been rather busy with Putricide, wiping for all difference kinds of reasons, mostly people messing up silly things in phase 1+2, some RNG and then some bad positioning in phase 3. Buuuuut...

Putricide:
Between our attempts on Blood Princes (nothing impressive to tell there) and Valithria (2x 0.5% wipes today, aarrgh!!!) we paid Putricide regular visits and wiped some more due to the reasons described above. Did make a bit of progress each time though, mostly on the silly errors meaning we were getting properly into phase 3 more often. Tonight wasn't much different, good phase 1 and 2, then phase 3 wipe. After some discussion in our forum about positioning we tried something a bit more structured than the "go on feel" approach and he finally bit the dust after many long tedious hours of wiping (tonight we were spared that though as he died on the 5th try - 2 of which were ninja pulls...)! And so noone asks: No, no zone-wide sissy buff was used!

Valithria coming up next - if everything goes down the same it should be a kill next Tuesday with just a change of spec for one of the healers. Stay tuned and cross your fingers!

Bahhh, I just realised 300k out of 6M is only 5%, so we just had some 5% wipes x( faulty math ftl!

As expected, another one bit the dust Tuesday! Or rather, stayed alive I might say.

Valithria:
Took us a few tries, but with our lovely priest Ragni specced as holy rather than discipline we made it look pretty easy. Probably one of the messiest tries in terms of tanking and as a result we ended the fight with just two or three people alive :D As with Putricide the zone-wide "Strength of Wrynn" buff was disabled. Overall quite a nice fight (especially if you're healing) and pressure on everyone to perform.

After the quick Valithria success we went and played the Blood Princes again and tried the no-caster-tank tactic, which seemed to work out a lot better for us. Still needs a bit of practice, but got as low as 8%, so I'm expecting to post another update within the week!
